SIRS Knowledge Source is customizable based on Library and patron needs. Items currently marked, are registered defaults. SIRS Discoverer licensees may also configure Discoverer Administrator Options.

Select Search Portal for most users. Select Advanced Search for users who are familiar with using drop-down menus to build Boolean searches. Select Topic Browse for users needing to determine research topics.

a) Select the Subject Headings field to produce the most relevant results. Select the Full-Text field to produce a greater number of results.
b) Select relevance to return articles based on the number of times key words from a query appear in the article text. If currency is the most important factor, select date.
c) Show the Database Selectors to allow users to select from available databases to search simultaneously. Libraries that subscribe to a single SIRS database may wish to hide this feature.
