The 2010 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race begins on March 6 in Anchorage, Alaska. A musher and a team of 12 to 16 dogs race across more than 1,150 miles of wild Alaskan terrain. Ten to 17 days later, a winner will cross the finish line in Nome, Alaska.
The 2010 Junior Iditarod is raced on February 27. Male and female mushers between the ages of 14 and 17 participate in this 150-mile race. In what year did the first Junior Iditarod take place?
