  BookCarts Teachable Moment

Do you receive both eLibrary and SIRS? You're in luck!

eLibrary subscribers who can also access SIRS Researcher or SIRS Discoverer can integrate SIRS articles and websites into their eLibrary BookCarts.

These hybrid BookCarts provide the best of these two comprehensive learning resources. You and librarians can copy from more than 700 ProQuest Carts collection and then add SIRS resources into the weblinks section of each of these models.
Activity
To view and sample the possibilities of these SIRS-added BookCarts:
  • Logon to both eLibrary and SIRS.

  • Access the eLibrary Teacher Edition.

  • Click the BookCart Admin link at the top right to access BookCart Editor.

  • Click the ProQuest Carts tab to access the ProQuest collection of 700+ models.

  • Click the Folder "BookCarts--SIRS Resources Added" to view the samples.

  • Click the View icon (eye) to the right of a title to review the BookCart.

  • Click an eLibrary article in the Reading section. Browse and then close it.

  • Click a SIRS link in the weblinks section. You will need to provide your username and password if SIRS is not open.
You can also include a Leading Issue as part of your SIRS resources as well as articles and websites.

If you want to copy these BookCarts, use this procedure:
  • Click the Copy icon in the Actions column to the right of the title.

  • Repeat for any others that you want.

  • Return to My Local Carts and look for "Copy of" as the prefix for your new BookCarts.

  • Click the Title of the BookCart.

  • Delete "Copy of" from the title, then type your name as the Author.

  • Scroll down and click the Save button.

  • Return to My Local Carts and repeat these steps for each BookCart you copied.
